Responsibilities
The Therapy Aide is responsible for implementation of assigned components of the individual care of plan as developed by a licensed physical or occupational therapist with a focus on maintenance rehabilitation. All treatments are developed by the licensed clinician who provides training to Therapy Aide. Additionally Therapy Aide supports program aide team to address personal care needs such as toileting showering grooming and other related personal needs. Provides door to door daily AM and PM transportation to and from participants’ homes to Adult Day Health Center. Works closely with all activities staff participants family student interns and volunteers to ensure participant support is individualized with clear knowledge of person-centered care (PCC) goals. Incumbent reports to Program Supervisor.

Minimum
High school diploma
Person centered care philosophy (PCC). Safe body manipulations therapy equipment use and maintenance; general patient care medical and therapy terminology transfer safety signs/symptoms of health conditions disabilities and disabled persons communica
Minimum of 1 year of experience providing personal care for elderly or disabled persons
CPR; Valid CA Class C Drivers License
Interact in a positive nature motivate and promote independence
Work cooperatively with participants volunteers staff and other agencies
Understand participants’ health problems
Perform adequately under stress when confronted with critical or unexpect
PreferredPrefer at least 1 year of personal care; rehab experience; patient driving experience
Bilingual Spanish language ability is preferred
