Thermal Spray Postdoctoral Associate **Required Qualifications** (As evidenced by an attached resume): Doctoral Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field in hand by April 2025. **Preferred Qualifications:** Experience in Thermal Spray Materials/Processes/Characterization/Modeling is preferred. Additional experience in contact mechanics would be of interest. Demonstrated ability to conduct hands-on experimentation with thermal spray and associated characterization tools is preferred. **Brief Description of Duties:** The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator Dr. Sanjay Sampath (https://www.stonybrook.edu/commcms/matscieng/people/\_core/sanjay\_sampath) in the department of Materials Science and Engineering. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. May also assist in grant writing. + Lab maintenance, including equipment maintenance and ordering of supplies as needed. + Other duties as assigned, which may include attending Scientific Conferences and Meetings. **Special Notes:** The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation.
