Job Summary

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the design and fabrication of Thermophotovoltaic (TPV) modules aimed at testing their efficiency using a local heat source. The role involves working closely with the team and independently to develop innovative solutions for the TPV module, ensuring the design meets performance criteria. The engineer will focus on optimizing the fabrication process and testing the efficiency of the modules under various conditions to drive improvements in energy conversion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with experience in module design, fabrication processes, and thermal systems.

Responsibilities*

Design and Development of TPV Modules (35%)

Lead the design of Thermophotovoltaic (TPV) modules, focusing on optimizing performance and efficiency using local heat sources. This includes designing prototypes, selecting materials, and ensuring alignment with project specifications and goals.

Fabrication of TPV Modules (30%)

Oversee the fabrication process of TPV modules, ensuring that manufacturing techniques are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality standards. Troubleshoot issues in the production process and implement improvements.

Efficiency Testing and Data Analysis (20%)

Conduct testing of the TPV modules under various thermal conditions to evaluate their efficiency. Analyze test results to identify potential improvements, and work with the team to refine designs based on the findings.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams (10%)

Work closely with other engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure smooth communication and collaboration throughout the design, fabrication, and testing phases of the project.

Documentation and Reporting (5%)

Maintain detailed records of the design, fabrication, and testing processes. Prepare reports on the performance of TPV modules and contribute to presentations for stakeholders or clients.Required Qualifications*Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Previous experience working with thermophotovoltaics in a research setting.Ability to collaborate with various stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to effectively and professionally communicate within a large team and with external stakeholdersDemonstrated attention to detail and ability to work independently and meet deadlinesProficient with Microsoft Office and Google WorkspaceModes of Work

Additional Information

This is a one-year term-limited position with the possibility for renewal.
