Job Title: TIG Welder
Job Description

We are a veteran-owned custom fabrication facility specializing in non-ferrous fabrication. We serve the defense, aerospace, pharmaceutical, and automotive industries and operate as a job shop. We are seeking skilled TIG Welders to join our team, primarily focusing on sheet metal, stainless steel, and steel. The role involves fabrication and fitting on fixtures and forming, with projects ranging from small to very large pieces.

ResponsibilitiesPerform TIG welding (and MIG welding) on sheet metal, stainless steel, and steel.Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.Set up and operate welding machines.Fabricate and fit parts as needed.Work with various materials, including sheet metal, stainless steel, and steel.Execute welding in flat and horizontal positions.Understand and utilize different gases for various welds.Engage in prototype and job shop welding (non-production).Essential Skills5+ years of TIG welding experience in a prototype environment.Proficient in reading blueprints and welding symbols.5+ years of fitting experience (will be tested).Experience with sheet metal, stainless steel, and steel.Ability to set up and run welding machines.Proficiency in welding in flat and horizontal positions.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with MIG welding.Relevant certifications (AWS Certified in the past).Fabrication skills.Knowledge of different gases used in various welds.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

1st Shift position: Monday - Thursday (4x 10's) from 6am - 4:30pm, and Friday (8 hours). Saturdays are rarely required at this time. Our facility is a clean, climate-controlled job shop with dedicated areas for different operations, including CNC and welding.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesterfield, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
