Job Description
The Tissue Processing Technician will perform debridement and processing, packaging, and labeling of human tissue products for surgical transplantation. This role requires ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and AATB regulations.
ResponsibilitiesPerform processing, debridement, packaging, labeling, and shipment of finished products.Utilize special techniques, instrumentation, and equipment to clean and size tissue to specifications and protocols.Assist Team Lead with efforts in maintaining inventory levels on the core and dock for receiving supplies.Perform lab cleaning activities as required by policies, protocols, procedures, and SOPs.Work with Quality and Regulatory staff to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and AATB regulations and requirements, particularly those pertaining to manufacturing.Correctly complete production documentation as required in nerve processing in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality standards.Assist with production records as needed.Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.Comply with all company policies and procedures.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma required; Associate's Degree in science preferred but not required.Prior medical or healthcare experience is a plus.Experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control is a plus.Experience working in a regulated environment is a big plus.Desire to be in the position long-term.Comfortable sitting and standing for long periods of time.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of human tissue, skin processing, debridement, scalpel, forceps, tissue, fat, cells, biology, and medical assistant duties.Prior experience in phlebotomy or similar healthcare roles is beneficial.Work Environment
The work is performed in a clean room environment, requiring the use of PPE provided by the client, including lab coat, safety glasses, hairnet, and medical gloves. Technicians work in teams of 8-12 depending on their shift. The available shift is the 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, from 3 PM to 11:30 PM. Flexibility to work overtime and some holidays depending on workload is required. The company is experiencing rapid growth, offering significant opportunities for upward mobility, and will be moving into a brand new state-of-the-art facility in Vandalia
