Job Summary
As a Solutions Engineer in NetApp's Sales function, you will primarily provide pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions. You will utilize your technical expertise and our cutting-edge data storage portfolio to address customers' technical needs and deliver successful business results. You will be assigned to a district team and sales leader, focusing on expanding our presence within existing and new clients together with business partners
Essential Functions:
Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions. May create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. May provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. Job Responsibilities: Designing tailored storage technology solutions to address unique customer challenges. Utilizing exceptional communication skills to convey the advantages of NetApp storage solutions through presentations, demonstrations, and discussions. Designing an architecting on-premise or hybrid storage systems. (knowledge of NAS, SAN and object storage required) Excellent written communication skills and demonstrable experience in responding to RFPs with partners or sales. Experience with Backup solutions eco system. Developing storage infrastructure and data management solutions for enterprise applications. (also in the context of Cloud Services) Deep insight in storage and data management vendor eco system. Ability to assist in creating ROI/TCO overview and competitive advantages of solution offerings. Collaborating with client executives and partner sales to create strategies for developing customer opportunities related to storage solutions. Advising on the engagement and utilization of a broader range of technical resources. Offering technical expertise on NetApp's storage products and solutions. Applying knowledge of NetApp's processes and cross-functional teams. Job Requirements Over 10 years of applicable experience preferred. Experience showcasing a substantial level of expertise in technical specifications to sell NetApp storage products and services. Experience working in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Architect, or Solutions Engineering role, focused on storage technologies Specialized knowledge in Cloud, Storage, AI/ML, Databases, Microservices, Enterprise Applications or DevOps would be an advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Limited management supervision and direction is provided since this individual operates and drives results independently. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert and strongly influences sales team decisions and initiatives. May also act as a team leader and major decision maker for team projects. Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order work successfully with prospects, customers, and cross functional teams to meet performance goals. Account management and project management experience. Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer facing environment. Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices. Creative approach to problem solving.
