The Manager will be part of the Enterprise Risk team in Global Risk Management. This individual will be a key contributor to the development of the Bank’s ESG Risk governance and social risk management programs by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, ESG Risk, the Manager will manage the day-to-day activities specifically related to the second line oversight of ESG risk management. The Manager will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and managing ESG risk across the organization.  This position involves working closely with various departments to ensure that ESG risks are integrated into the overall risk management frameworks and that the Bank’s ESG strategy is effectively implemented.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Support key stakeholders with embedding ESG risks into their respective policies and processes. Support the monitoring and reporting of ESG risk exposures and key risk indicators to senior management. Support ESG risk governance and the development of social risk including: Support the development of social risk due diligence action plans relating to Enterprise programs such as the Truth and Reconciliation and Human Rights action plans. Participate in ESG risk-related initiatives including development of frameworks policies, and procedures that the Bank uses to govern and manage its exposure to ESG risks. Provide training and support ESG risk management activities including target operating model. Stay updated on ESG regulatory development and industry best practices to ensure compliance with the Bank’s Regulatory Compliance Management program requirements. Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

Has an undergraduate and/or graduate degree At least 2-4 years of relevant environmental, climate change, human rights experience. Experience in a risk or audit role would be considered an asset, Knowledge of environmental, climate change and social risks and their potential impact. Familiarity with ESG risk management and reporting regulations, standards, and guidelines for the financial sector.   Strong communication and relationship skills with a proven track record of engaging and presenting to stakeholders. Spanish language fluency would be considered an asset.
