Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Portfolio Management and Strategy Execution, this position will support and assist with the planning, forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting/analytics. The role will contribute to the overall success of the Enterprise Portfolio Management and Strategy Execution by supporting both the Project Portfolio and Business as Usual Operations by ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed/ delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The primary focus of this position is to support the Project Portfolio by working with internal stakeholders and Business Line Finance teams to ensure that new projects are approved according to the SIP Approval policy and lead the business cases review ensuring continued adherence to the Enterprise Delivery Framework. Also, support financial review of project execution.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Ensure that new projects are approved according to the SIP Approval policy, and lead the business cases review ensuring continued adherence to the Enterprise Delivery Framework Responsible for reconciling financials for the Project Portfolio for regulatory and management reporting purposes Review and approve any financial impact on project change requests, as well as provide guidance to Project Managers on the process Make sure all completed projects are closed in a timely manner. Support strong financial discipline, and culture focused on prioritization and efficient use of resources, supporting achievement of financial targets, aligned with Enterprise targets Be responsible for ensuring project financials are reconciled across multiple systems (PeopleSoft and CAPPM) Maintain/track all project funding artifacts and project FTE and contract resources. Manage the month-end cut-off processes/deadlines for all Project Portfolios. Support the Director in various ad-hoc reporting and analysis. Partner with management teams to provide timely support, transparency of information, and insights to support effective decision making and resource allocation Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders (GPO, PMO and Corporate Functions Finance teams). Communicate information to all necessary internal and external stakeholders, explaining Financial transactions and resolving related issues. Develop and execute meaningful employee development plans; motivating and contributing to the development of subordinate/team performance in current job and for future opportunities; Recognize direct report development needs and take an active role in addressing gaps; exhibiting self-awareness around one’s own impact on the team and when necessary, adjusting leadership and motivational qualities to maximize subordinate/team performance; Facilitate a customer focused culture with strong performance orientation and open communication. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:
University degree with major in Business, Finance or Accounting. 5 - 7 Years of relevant experience CPA/CFA or MBA would be an asset Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), including communication with senior management (VP+) as well as convey information to non-finance professionals Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the perspective of continually seeking opportunities for improvement. Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including members of the management team of GRM. Strong planning and co-ordination skills required to simultaneously support multiple projects and complete deliverables on time. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to coach a team of financial professionals Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including ability to create / manage large financial models, pivot tables. Detail-oriented worker. Experience in developing/compiling management reports.
