This National Guard position is for a TITLE 32 THEATER AEROSPACE OPERATIONS COMMAND AND CONTROL OFFICER (MI 217 COS), Position Description Number NGD1503000 and is part of the MI 110 Airlift Wing, Michigan Air National Guard. Use this link to apply https://intelshare.intelink.gov/sites/ngbhr/careers/SitePages/State-Unit%20Vacancies.aspx Responsibilities ***THIS IS A TITLE 32 NATIONAL GUARD POISITION THAT REQUIRES MILITARY MEMBERSHIP*** This position is located at an Air National Guard Air Operations Group. Its paramount purpose is to monitor and oversee the planning, organization, and supervision of all unit programs required by Air Force, Major Command, and ANG regulations in the training and employment of the force level Air Operations Center (AOC) weapons system. The Operations Director must ensure AOC weapons systems personnel are capable of operating in a United States-only, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), or a tailored alliance environment. In addition to supervisory responsibility, the incumbent possesses rated or air battle management experience and maintains AOC positional certification. This position requires military membership. It is designated for National Guard officer incumbency only. The incumbent provides supervision, subordinate guidance and team leadership to NDS and DS employees. Incumbent performs long-term planning and organizational development necessary accomplish aerospace warfare training functions in support of programs essential to state Air National Guard daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Fosters an environment conductive to teaming among service providers and customers to meet state Air/Army National Guard requirements. 1. Plans work to be accomplished by the organization which consists of full-time subordinates engaged in technical and administrative work. 2. Oversees all unit operations activities which based on unit mission and equipment may include any of the following theater level Air Operations program support functional areas: Combat Operations, Combat Plans, and Training/Evaluation, Weapons and Tactics, and Scheduling. 3. Develops long-range training and deployment plans for the unit to meet training goals, higher headquarters inspection schedules and overseas deployment requirements. 4. Serves as a Senior Operations advisor on the Commander's staff to coordinate operational exercises and contingency taskings. 5. Serves as the Operations representative on the Commander's Financial Management Board. 6. Develops and directs the force level weapons system implementation program in coordination with higher headquarters to meet approved employment concepts. 7. Oversees training of all assigned/attached AOC positionally assigned battle rostered personnel. 8. Monitors the implementation of an effective division safety program for all operations and related ground activities. 9. Develops division policy for fight management personnel to ensure effective and efficient administrative control of all flight documentation and individual flight records. 10. Must maintain positional certification and meet requirements as prescribed by applicable regulations and directives. Military Grades: O4 - O5 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Months Required: 48 Experience that demonstrated an extensive knowledge of and experience in the technology, system interrelationships, and management of civilian or military automated aviation, navigation, and electronics systems. Specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience, education, or training routine and non-routine preflight, in-flight, post-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. Education No substitution of education allowed for this position.
