Title Analyst

Summary:

The Analyst, Title Svc I - Servicing operations support is responsible for filing loan policy insurance claims against title issues as recommended by legal counsel or as determined upon examination of title reports, while ensuring compliance of all state, federal, and investor guidelines. Analyze property reports and title policies to determine problems or restrictions with lien position and conveyances. Work directly with attorneys and underwriters to determine best course of title resolution based on state laws and investor requirements. Routine follow-up and communication with underwriters, internal and external counsel, lines of business, and management.

Essential Job Functions:

Review and analyze title issues denoted in property reportsAnalyze and compare loan policies to property reports to assess additional exposure to risk and issues with lien position and conveyanceAbstract and verify property records using vendor databases and online servicesReview, analyze, and interpret documents including but not limited to, loan documents, legal documents, policies, regulations, and guidelinesObtain and compile documents required to file title claimAssist with research and analysis of complex title issuesInvestigate possible title issues initiated by borrower correspondenceMaintain portfolio of title issues and detailed records of claim resolution or settlement, including timelines and correspondenceReview and assess Homeowner / Condo Association liens for super-lien priority interestAttorney-fee approval and dispute of attorney-fee requestsVarious functions using company systems and software, including but not limited to, proper file notations, loading of supporting documentation into imaging system of record, reviewing/completing assigned tasks, monitor attorney tasks and responses.Escalate issues involving potential loss of lien priority, monetary losses, or any other potential loss or risk exposure to managementPrepare monthly status reports for managementMaintain regular and punctual attendance.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma RequiredBachelor’s Degree from a Four (4) year College or University preferred; or 2 plus years industry related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business reports, legal documents, government regulations, and investor guides. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, managers, clients, and legal professionals.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages and interest. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts and basic algebra. 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve problems involving a variety of concrete variables with limited standardization.
