Title Merchandising, Performance Lead

We are looking for an analytical expert to join our Merchandising team and help us understand and communicate how we connect amazing stories with the fans who will love them. 

The Title Merchandising, Performance Lead is responsible for the strategic vision and delivery of insights that provide accurate, helpful, and thoughtful information around our title promotions.  This role will define how we understand and tell a title’s promotional story, and which metrics, dashboards, visuals, and materials are needed to do so at scale. 

You should be comfortable at the intersection of data and creativity, and thrive at translating information (data, facts) into understanding (stories and take-aways). Your success will depend on your ability to ask the right questions, collaborate on answers, and deliver scaled data products. A strong technical background is required to enable creativity and quick, efficient iteration. 


You are expected to:

Define the questions to be answered in order to understand title promotional performance on Netflix; what do we need to know to evaluate whether promotions were healthy, effective, and/or impactful on overall title performance?

Own the strategy, requirements and roadmaps for partner-facing Title Promotional performance dashboards and drive execution in partnership with data science teams.

Create external-facing insights and illustrations that describe our approach to title merchandising and launch experiences (i.e. promotional narratives and data visualizations). 

Take input and feedback from local teams to evolve and iterate dashboards or metrics appropriately. This role is obligated to seek global input into their work and to be focused on global deliverables.

Be a subject-matter expert in promotional data and be responsible for leading the Title Merch measurement strategy. Engage in proactive and in-depth analysis to uncover valuable insights and drive performance.

Partner with Catalog and Messaging Performance teammates to share insights, progress and hurdles with each other. . 


Qualifications

6+ years of experience in analytical roles in Product analytics, with a proven track-record of building successful data insights products

Demonstrated success at data storytelling; translating facts into narratives and take-aways for non-technical audiences

Ideally experience in building promotional performance at a large organization 

Experience in promotional performance management required.  

Experience in understanding recommendation systems a plus 

Strategic thinker with a strong customer-focused mindset and empathy

Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive alignment amid ambiguity

Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and effectively influence and contribute with concrete recommendations/next steps, across both regional and global teams

Comfortable applying a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods to define success

Insatiable curiosity to learn new domains, keep up with industry innovation, and constantly ask ‘why’

Excellent written (memos and presentations) and verbal communication skills; timely communication

Bachelor's degree required

Experience with or deep curiosity about entertainment industry 


Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $210,000-$500,000.
