Title Officer

Title Officer will issue title commitments, policies, pro-forma policies and settlement/closing documents for residential and land acquisition closings in multiple states.  Attend closings as needed.  Assist in setting up master commitments for planned unit developments and condominiums.  Work with builder, lender and attorneys on land acquisitions and land take downs in multiple states.

Essential responsibilities to include the following:

-  Read title searches and format into title commitments for Residential, Land, Financing, and Commercial transactions.
-  Issue commitments and endorsements, work with lenders and attorneys on applicable and allowable endorsements on various transaction types.
-  Read surveys, identify survey issues, draw up metes and bounds descriptions for surveys and survey readings.
-  Act as a resource to other Associates for title and closing matters.
-  Interact with internal and external attorneys, lenders, and other parties to resolve title matters and bring transactions to closing.
-  Attend closings for residential and land purchase transactions.
-  Produce settlement statements, closing documents, and other title company/underwriter documentation necessary for the consummation of closing.
-  Disburse closed files, review documents for insurability and recordability prior to recording, confirm files are balanced with zero balance post-closing.
-  Prepare and issue final title policies and pro-forma policies.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college; or a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience in the title side of land acquisitions, lot takedowns, new construction/development title, and/or legal experience required.
