Toddler Preschool Spanish Enrichment Instructor

Toddler Preschool Enrichment Spanish Instructors will be responsible for creating a nurturing and immersive learning environment for young children (ages 2-4) teaching them Spanish language skills through play, songs, art, movement, and structured activities. Must be fluent in Spanish and have a strong understanding of early childhood education principles, as well as a deep commitment to fostering bilingualism in young learners.

Spanish Enrichment Instructors will help children develop foundational language skills in Spanish while promoting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. You will also provide a warm, engaging classroom atmosphere where curiosity, exploration, and creativity are encouraged.

Scopes and Responsibility

Plan and implement engaging lessons in Spanish, incorporating vocabulary, songs, simple conversations, and interactive activities that promote language acquisition and introduce basic Spanish language skills (colors, numbers, greetings, animals, etc.). Use Spanish as the primary language of communication in the classroom, ensuring children are immersed in the language during class activities. Maintain a safe, nurturing, and organized classroom environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged to engage. Provide feedback to parents and guardians about their child’s progress in Spanish language development and encourage involvement in the learning process. Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience for the children.

Minimum and Preferred Requirements 

Must be fluent in Spanish. Experience in childcare, education, or related program. Must have the proven ability to establish constructive relationships and interact as a positive role model for early learners, parents/caregivers and staff demonstrating the values of respect, responsibility, caring and honesty. Commitment to and passion for the YMCA of Metro Chicago’s mission is required including a passion for working with diverse youth and families. Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely present ideas and concepts. Continuous learner who leverages opportunities for learning and applies new knowledge and skills. Demonstrates evidence of YMCA Y Team competencies in previous experience or practice.
