Job Summary: ... The Assembly Technician will be responsible for assembling and testing manufactured components in their final stage of production. This position will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans. Performs functions such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly. In addition, they may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing process, collect design data and assist in research work.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Positions and secures Tongs and related sub-assemblies and components assembly fixtures
Connects auxiliary component parts. Cable, lines, and accessory units to Wellbore equipment according to blueprints and assembly procedures
Fits, trims, aligns, and adjusts parts and components
Grinds
Tests installed parts and accessories for leakage, continuity, functionality
Reworks, repairs, or replaces faulty components
Installs valve packages, gears, motors or other structural assembly
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Competence:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos
Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Strong organizational and time management skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is an asset

High School

1-4 years
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience with tong maintenance, building, testing, and/or operating.
Minimum 2 years experience with mechanics, hydraulic and electrical controls
High School Diploma is Required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
