**Job Title: Tool and Die Machinist-1st shift, $30-$45/hr, direct hire** **Job Description** As a Tool and Die Machinist, you will be responsible for the start and stop of all machines and handling all auxiliary equipment. You will process machines, make necessary adjustments, set up and changeover machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies. You will inspect standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommend design modifications regarding the construction and function of parts. Additionally, you will verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances, study and read specs such as blueprints, sketches, models, descriptions, and visual examples, and determine materials required and machines needed to fabricate parts. Lock out/tag out procedures will also be part of your responsibilities. **Responsibilities** + Start and stop all machines + Handle all auxiliary equipment + Process machines and make necessary adjustments + Set up and changeover machine tools + Fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies + Inspect standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures + Recommend design modifications regarding the construction and function of parts + Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances + Study and read specs such as blueprints, sketches, models, descriptions, and visual examples + Determine materials required and machines needed to fabricate parts + Perform lock out/tag out procedures **Essential Skills** + Strong mechanical aptitude + Ability to read and interpret blueprints + Experience with tool and die, mechanical work, changeovers, grinding, troubleshooting, CNC machining + Knowledge of CNC machining, drill press, braiding, CNC machine programming, lathe, tooling, die repair, and milling + 3+ years of experience + Mathematical skills including ability to measure down to 1/16th of an inch, calculate percentages, and basic geometry/algebra + Basic computer skills + Strong problem-solving ability to troubleshoot **About Aerotek:** We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
