Additional information about the company can be found at WhirlpoolCorp.com. **This role in summary** We are looking for a skilled tool and die maker to maintain, troubleshoot and repair dies, die components, and tooling used in the production process. In this role you will be required to use Manual and CNC equipment as well as tool room machinery. Tool Makers often work in production areas outside of the Tool Room to troubleshoot dies and tooling in presses requiring personnel to comply with safety and work rules for the area they are working in, and follow all required safety practices. Job may require handling hazardous waste. Candidate shall be trained within the department at a minimum of once per year to properly handle and accumulate hazardous waste in accordance with applicable federal and state environmental regulations and InSinkErator environmental procedures. Training shall be either on-the-job or a handout of written procedures. This is a Safety Sensitive position. Employees in this classification may be randomly screened under the InSinkErator Substance Abuse policy. **Your responsibilities will include** + Maintaining stamping dies of all types, die components and production tooling, and troubleshooting dies inpress. + Installing and adjusting die and tooling components as necessary. Interpreting complex detail andcomponent drawings. + Producing parts to print tolerances. + Maintaining production tooling within quality standards. + Communicating effectively with operators, set-up personnel, and supervisors on all three shiftsregarding tooling requirements, and die and equipment status. + Completing all required paperwork, quality records, documents, etc. + Complying with all safety and work rules and regulations. + Maintaining departmental housekeeping standards,and cleaning/restocking area at end of shift. + Other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead. **Additional Responsibilities** + **Working effectively with your peers to sharing knowledge and leverage strengths** + **Utilizing excellent communication and documentation skills to transfer critical processes and support knowledge to others.** + **Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.** + **Cutting and shaping blocks to specified dimensions.** + **Filing, grinding, and shimming metals to ensure a smooth finish.** + **Fitting and assembling tools and die parts.** + **Inspecting finished dies and tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities.** + **Conducting test runs with completed tools and dies / molds.** **Minimum requirements** **The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.** + **Able to stand for a long duration of time, in excess of 8 hours a day** + **Able to bend over and rotate body repeatedly** + **Able to lift 50 pounds floor to waist** + **Experience working as a tool and die maker.** + **In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses.** + **Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design schematics.** + **Extensive experience with metalworking tools including drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes.** + **Ability to lift heavy objects and operate large machinery.** + **Experience with quality control analysis.** + **Excellent attention to detail.** + **Advanced troubleshooting skills.** + **Google Suite Knowledge** + **PVO license required. (Training provided onsite)** + **Industrial Health & Safety, Confined Space, and Lockout-Tagout Training** **Preferred skills and experiences** State-indentured Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship or 10 years equivalent experience. Familiarity with stamping dies of all types. Progressive and/or transfer die knowledge is a plus.
