Job Description
Supports Manufacturing in the creation and maintenance of plastic injection molds and components, performs routine mold and machine maintenance, and adheres to strict safety requirements.
ResponsibilitiesPerform operations common to the toolmaker trade, including creation of plastic injection molds and components, mold triage, and tooling repair.Conduct routine mold maintenance, cleanings, and complete tool changeovers.Perform routine machine maintenance.Operate tool room machinery such as lathes, mills, and grinders, both manual and CNC.Machine parts and hold tolerances within .0005” or tighter where applicable.Maintain a neat and organized personal workspace.Develop specifications from simple and complex blueprints or hand sketch simple parts on paper.Strictly adhere to all safety requirements including proper dress attire, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, and the proper use of cleaning fluids and coolants.Consistently attend work on time.Demonstrate responsibility and pride in doing work precisely and correctly.Essential SkillsProficiency with lathe, mill, blueprint reading, and tool room operations.Experience in machining and manual tool operation.Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, and manual machining tools.Must be a journeyman tool and die maker.Ability to troubleshoot and perform machine shop tasks.Proficiency in manual lathe, manual mill, and manual machining.Additional Skills & QualificationsBasic knowledge of programming CNC mills such as Hurco Win-Max.Ownership of basic tool room tools and understanding of micrometers, depth micrometers, and dial calipers.Basic math skills including geometry and trigonometry.Ability to read drawings and calculate dimensions not on drawings.Ability to perform setup for machining.Demonstrate accountability and adhere to meeting deadlines.Ability to follow directions from lead.Ability to move 100lbs with assistance and lift 50lbs.Ability to stand for prolonged periods, reach, bend, and stretch with minimal assistance.Basic computer skills.Why Work Here?
