Tool And Die Technician
**Job Title: Tool and Die Technician** **Job Description** The Maintenance Tool and Die Technician is responsible for making, repairing, and diagnosing dies, punches, and other tooling/parts. This role involves designing, building, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, and specialized equipment, and working closely with maintenance to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues. **Responsibilities** + Design, build, repair, and maintain tools, dies, and specialized equipment. + Diagnose and repair dies, punches, and other tooling/parts. + Use calipers and micrometers, as well as other precision measuring tools. + Collaborate with maintenance to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues. + Assess priorities and execute work to support internal customers’ needs. + Participate in Preventative Maintenance work involving dies, punches, and other precision-oriented tasks. + Utilize problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the machine shop. + Report issues with quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor to the Production Supervisor. + Work closely with support staff such as Technicians, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Supervisor, and Materials/Warehouse to resolve issues. + Review drawings, pictures, and physical parts to build/make parts based on provided information. + Prioritize work based on CMMS work orders and direct assignments. + Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities. + Handle all tasks required to support plant operations. + Interpret prints and make parts; heat treat/draw back material; use precision tools. **Essential Skills** + Experience with calipers and micrometers, as well as other precision measuring tools. + Ability to interpret prints and make parts. + Heat treat and draw back material. + Experience with precision tools. + Problem-solving skills. + Experience with tool and die making, repair, and maintenance. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with grinding, machining, lathe, mills, and lathes. + Knowledge of preventive maintenance and die making. + Experience with manual lathe, toolroom, die press, stamping, CNC, change over, mold, calipers, and fabrication. + Mechanically inclined. + Experience with die casting. **Why Work Here?** We offer a collaborative work environment where employees can develop their skills and grow their careers. Join a team dedicated to quality and continuous improvement. **Work Environment** 2nd and 3rd shift openings are available. 2nd shift: 3pm-11:30pm, Monday to Friday. 3rd shift: 11pm-7:30am, Monday to Friday. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, South Carolina. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
