Tool and Model Maker 1st Shift

We are seeking a skilled **Tool and Model Maker** to join our clients team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, modifying, installing, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and sample products to support our Manufacturing, Engineering, and Sales departments. You will utilize manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders to produce parts to the required tolerances, while ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Read and interpret blueprints to produce parts within required tolerances
+ Operate manual machines including lathes, mills, drill presses, and grinders to fabricate precise components
+ Perform first-piece inspections and subsequent quality checks on produced parts
+ Maintain a clean, organized work environment and perform routine maintenance on equipment
+ Follow safety procedures during machine operation and ensure proper guarding
+ Maintain simple reports on productivity, quality, and safety measures
**Requirements:**
+ Proven experience in tool and model making or a similar machining environment
+ Strong understanding of blueprint reading and part manufacturing to specifications
+ Ability to operate manual machines (lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders)
+ High attention to detail and quality control skills
+ Familiarity with routine equipment maintenance and safety protocols
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
