– Must have experience
– Read blueprints, sketches, and specifications to make tools, molds, and dies
– Use CAD
– Compute and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces
– Setting up machine tools
– Inspects completed tools and dies for signs of imperfections and/or damages that may affect functionality 
– Regularly test all equipment, tools and machines to ensure they are arranged and set up properly
