PURPOSE:  The Tooling Intern will assist the Evansville Tool Shop administrators and employees with general tasks in assigned areas.

Responsibilities Use caution and support systems to assure safety event free Berry Plastics facilitiesObserve, respond and report any instance of equipment non-conformity, or significant threat of resulting non-conforming productRespond to any emergency or potential emergency following established proceduresSecurity diligence, including maintaining control of key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to Berry facilities by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry equipment and informationPause activities and notify Safety lead in any facility regarding instances of potentially unsafe work environment or employee practicesInitiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channelsSuggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutionsAssist superiors in any day to day activityMaintain cleanliness of the shopManufacturing area activities:Complete manual machining and supervised CNC machine operation as neededAssist with general shop maintenance:Develop an understanding of machine functions and the setup process.Read blue printsUse precision measuring tools to accurately record dimensions of componentsTooling Design area activities:Generate tooling component CAD models and detail drawings using SolidWorksParticipate in reverse engineering activitiesMaintain and release CAD data for manufacturingProvide technical support as needed for new and existing toolingMiscellaneous activities:Sort and organize hard copy and electronic documents for the Tooling GroupScan Documents and Records for archive purposesAdd, edit, replace or remove archive documents as directedComplete Mold Manual maintenanceData Entry:Assist Finance, Purchasing and Scheduling personnel as requestedCreate files or log shop information as neededMaintain reports related to project shipments, labor, and efficiencies  Qualifications High School Diploma, requiredCurrently enrolled in a degree program in Business, Engineering or other related fieldStrong organizational skills with ability to multi-task.Able to work effectively and efficiently with little supervision.Able to work with basic Microsoft Office programs.Excellent written and verbal communication skills Options Apply for this job onlineApplyShareEmail this job to a friendRefer Sorry the Share function is not working properly at this moment.
