Volt is hiring for a busy Manufacturer local to North Hollywood, CA!

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Level One Tooling Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will work under direct supervision to interpret basic work instructions and safely operate grinders, lathes, and mills to produce tooling components such as forming tools and dies. You will also perform in-process inspection duties using micrometers and calipers.

\r\n\r\n

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tStudy specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions to determine materials required and machines to be used.\r\n\tCompute dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly method and sequence of operations.\r\n\tMeasure, mark, and scribe metal stock for machining.\r\n\tSet up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders.\r\n\tVerify conformance of machined parts to specifications.\r\n\tLift machined parts and position and secure parts on surface plates or worktables.\r\n\tSmooth flat and contoured surfaces using power grinders and fit and assemble parts.\r\n\tVerify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.\r\n\tHeat treat tools or parts.\r\n\tConnect wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components.\r\n\tExamine standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommend design modifications.\r\n\tDevelop specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draw or sketch designs.\r\n\tWork under direct supervision to ensure product accuracy.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Required Skills:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tProficiency in basic shop math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.\r\n\tBasic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.\r\n\tAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.\r\n\tBasic mechanical aptitude.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Required Experience:

\r\n\r\n\r\n\t1-2 years of direct experience in the industry or a related field.\r\n\r\n\r\n

Pay: $30-41/HOUR

\r\n\r\n
