Tool & Die Maker Job description:
About us:
We are a contract manufacturer of metal stampings, wire forms, and welded assemblies that has been in business for over 90 years.
Job Summary:
- Repair existing, and build new fixtures, jigs, dies or gages. Must be able to
troubleshoot tooling while working in conjunction in a team environment
Position includes but not limited to:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Use precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of finished
products
- Set up and operate various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines,
and grinders
- Build, repair, and maintain tooling and dies for production processes
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with tooling
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to improve processes
and designs
- Previous machine shop/job shop experience is required
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical degree or certification preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- 3+ years’ of experience working in a tool fabrication environment as a tool maker
- Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Able to work independently and with other machinists and engineers
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers,
calipers, and gauges
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Machining and working with mills, lathes, grinders, polishers, sanders, and working with a variety of hand tools is required
Tool Fabrication, Reverse Engineering, Machining, use of assorted hand tools and measuring instruments, Problem Solving, Strong Attention to Detail, Injection Molding and/or Extrusion Molding experience a plus, and Ability to work in a Team Environment are all required elements of this position.

Salary: $28.25 - $33.50 per hour
