Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform diversified duties to plan and carry out a variety of Tool Room operations required to support plant production. Receive instruction and assistance as necessary from more experienced personnel.Perform all operations to make a range of jigs, fixtures, gauges and other tools of simple to medium-complex difficulty and detail. Receive assistance as required in tool making, mold making and mold repair.Plan and perform operations required to produce a range of new pattern molds and models and to repair or alter a range of pattern molds and models of simple to medium-complex difficulty and detail.Plan and perform operations required to produce cavities of simple to medium-complex configuration and detail, Set up models or hobs, prepare investment material, prepare and pour casting metal, perform final hand or machine finishing.Read and interpret any part drawing or part required for the construction of tooling. Make calculations necessary to determine dimensions not given which are required for construction. Tolling will generally be described or designed by others.Perform all operations following methods required to meet specified control requirements.Operate machine and hand tools required to produce the variety of tooling; use a variety of precision measuring instruments and gauges required to measure and control the items within specified limits. Work to close tolerances.SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures, while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.Must participate in required training, medical monitoring, safety, and health evaluations and programs.Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of facility.Perform all physical functions of position; standing, stooping, bending, sitting, walking, twisting, kneeling, turning and lifting of materials up to 35 lbs.Meet established attendance standards.Work overtime as needed.Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to your direct supervisor.Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.At least 2 to 3 years of experience.*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, twist, turn, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, kneel, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
