Description:You will be a Tool and Die Maker, at our Greenville, SC location. Our team is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of our tools, jigs and fixtures.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for using a range of materials, including metals, fiberglass, thermal plastics, and other fabrication materials, to create and maintain both soft and hard tooling for manufacturing processes.
The candidate will be required to:
• Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to understand tool specifications.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate and repair parts of tools, jigs and fixtures.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and departments to achieve production goals and resolve issues efficiently.
• Ensure effective communication with supervisors/ Leaders and peers regarding project status, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time

Basic Qualifications:
• Candidate must have 3 years of experience as a tool maker/ Jig & fixture builder.
• Candidate must have 3 years of experience working with manual lathe and milling machines.
• Experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience fabricating tools and detail parts.
•Experience working with fiberglass lay-up.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Laser Tracker techniques
(Leica or Faro)
• Experience with Spatial Analyzer Software
(S/A) Preferred.
• Experience with Aircraft Production Tooling
Preferred.
• Experience with F-16 Production Tooling Highly
Desired.
• Ability to mentor and train others in tool
making skills.
• Willing to be trained and/or certified in special
skills.
• Ability to identify aircraft locations by station,
butt-line, and waterline as shown or engineering
documentation.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
