PURPOSE:

To deliver and retrieve dies, tools and fixtures in wax molding or in other production areas.  To catalogue, log out and store tools and dies accurately. To clean and provide minor tool maintenance.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Tool Movement: Deliver and retrieve dies, tools and fixtures; to assure return to proper storage location.

Typical Activities:

Reviews production schedule and/or works from verbal instructions.Locates appropriate Tech cards and tools, dies, fixtures.Delivers and places on appropriate molding machines.Collects tools, dies, fixtures and Tech cards; places in appropriate storage area.Updates tool and fixture tracking system (TFTS); maintains outgoing log. 

Cleaning and Maintenance:  Maintain dies and tools in working order.

Typical Activities:

Cleans dies, tools and fixtures.Disassembles, cleans, and reassembles large complex dies and insert changes.Completes minor repairs of tools.

 

Record Keeping

Typical Activities:

Completes logs and records of daily activities.Maintains Tech Card files.Maintains physical inventory and inventory records.

 

 

Wax Molding Operator Support

Typical Activities:

May act as backup lead or operator.Notifies operators of wax changes.May handle hazardous waste materials.

 

Safety: Take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.

Typical Activities:

Adheres to plant and department safety rules.Safely operates all equipment and tools.Identifies and reports safety problems.

 Performs other tasks as directed.

 

TRAINING:

Training is provided on the job.PCC's Fork Lift Driving Safety Certification Training must be completed.May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Handling Training as directed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Basic knowledge of tools and the molding process, as demonstrated by the competent performance for 6 - 12 months of Mold Machine Operator C or B duties (not in the machine shop facility), is preferred.                             ORAn equivalent combination of classroom training and work experience.Basic ability to follow instructions, read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations.Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing ten to fifty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred pounds.Good organizational skills.Ability to work in difficult working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes and other elements for extended periods of time.
