Tool Shop Assistant
**Job Title: Tool Room Attendant** **Job Description** The Tool Room Attendant must have knowledge of tools and consumables, and be able to issue and receive tools. The role guarantees the functionality of all production tools in accordance with production needs, and ensures the operation of the tool crib aligns with the production schedule at all times. Responsibilities include issuing production tools and equipment to employees, maintaining records of use, and monitoring the tool crib inventory. Additionally, the Tool Room Attendant will inspect, repair, and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring the tool room remains clean and orderly. The position requires independence, as work must be performed without supervision. **Responsibilities** + Check tools in and out for use. + Perform preventive maintenance by tracking due dates and conducting periodic inspections and required maintenance for production tools. + Create new Tool Control Cards for new tools. + Update Tool Control Cards with tool history and calibration data. + Write, track, and file Lost Tool Notices. + File Tool Control Cards. + Update data files. + Repair or send out broken tools. + Assist Engineering with continuous improvement projects. + Conduct inventory of production tools. + Receive new tools. + Perform incoming inspection for new tools. + Send out and track hydraulic samples. + Receive and file hydraulic sample results. + Track calibration and periodic inspection due dates. + Send out and receive calibrated tools. + File calibration certifications. **Essential Skills** + Knowledge of Tool Control, Tool Room operations, Calibration, Blueprints, SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), hydraulic systems, and computer proficiency. + Ability to work independently without supervision. + Basic computer skills. + Detail-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions. + Capability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred). + Any experience or sufficient training equivalent to demonstrate performance of essential duties and responsibilities. **Why Work Here?** This position offers a dynamic work environment where your contributions are valued. The working conditions include a tool room and shop environment, subject to lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, equipment noise, and fumes. The role involves lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds and requires learning and applying appropriate safety precautions and procedures. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
