Tool Technician

•    Troubleshoot problems with injection molds. 
•    Repair, fix and implement engineering changes of molds. 
•    Develop and implement corrective and preventative actions. 
•    Make fixture details. 
•    Communicate with outside vendors when outsourcing. 
•    Work with various departments to implement customer concerns. 
•    Ensure the effective implementation of TS 16949 standards. 
•    Ensure safety and housekeeping standards are maintained. 
•    Follow the safety rules, report safety problems and all injuries, regardless of severity. 
•    Ensure plant safety and 5S housekeeping standards are maintained. 
•    Use analytical problem solving.
•    Understand injection molding processes, molded part feasibility and tool build/design.
•    Experience with injection molding equipment, robotics, and auxiliary equipment.
•    Proven mechanical aptitude for problem solving.
•    Experience with various injection molding tool technologies (e.g. RPT, Aluminum, P-20, mold max, cooling and turbulent flow, tool shot, mold behind, in-mold formed laminates).
 

High School Graduate or Equivalent
Area of Study:  2-year apprentice program at CommunityCollege helpful.
*Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
•    1-3 years or more experience in injection molding tool and process; 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
