Job Title: Tooling Design EngineerJob Description Peerless Machine and Tool, a worldwide leader in the manufacture of paper converting machinery and tooling, is looking to hire a Tooling Design Engineer. The applicant will be tasked with designing and testing paper plate and tray thermoforming tooling. They recently just moved to a brand new facility in Marion, IN. Responsibilities + Perform detailed tooling design and documentation using Autodesk Inventor and other systems. + Create and maintain forming die and cutting die bill of materials. + Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly. + Conduct and participate in internal design reviews. + Effectively communicate design/project information with manufacturing groups. Essential Skills + 2-5 years of design experience in tooling, die design, die forms, or good mechanical design. + Experience with Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or Solid Edge. + Good understanding of complex geometry (GD&T) (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Desire to promote to a lead or supervisor role. + Experience with stainless steel, aluminum, sheet metal, metals, die, ERP, MRP, and BOM. + Nice to have: experience in BOM, GD&T, stress analysis, ERP/MRP, and customer-facing skills. Work Environment This role includes working in both a machine build shop and office environment. The shop floor is clean and well-lit. The individual will need to be comfortable walking around the shop floor and working with and communicating with the panel builders. The job involves spending 80% of the time in the office and 20% on the shop floor.
