As a leading developer, manufacturer, and global supplier of scientific laboratory products for 100 years, Corning’s Life Sciences segment collaborates with researchers seeking new approaches to increase efficiencies, reduce costs and compress timelines in the drug discovery process. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day problem-solving support to manufacturing operations. Oversee and prescribe tooling repairs, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements Technical Drawing Change Management  Maintain electronic drawing database Revise and manage new and modified drawings Mold Tooling Management Coordinate tooling repairs and manage inventory of mold spare components  Establish new and evaluate existing mold preventative maintenance procedures  Develop strategy to drive system continuous improvements  Identify process improvement and cost reduction opportunities Utilize the scientific method to develop, test, and prove hypotheses Solve problems through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with subject matter experts  Actively engage on project teams and act with urgency to close assignments  Consistently and effectively communicates issues and concerns to stakeholders Interface with operators, team leaders and peers to develop and implement process, equipment, or safety improvements into manufacturing Collaborate with peers/shop personnel to gain high level of process understanding, listens to their concerns and seeks resolution rapidly within the functional area Requirements B.S. in Engineering/Engineering Technology; Mechanical Engineering or Plastics Engineering strongly preferred  CAD Drafting including SolidWorks and AutoCAD  Knowledge of Injection Molding Tooling Design & Maintenance  User proficiency with manufacturing IT and record management systems   Basic knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodology Willingness to learn new technology and processes quickly Strong communication skills. Able to collaborate across organizational boundaries, make technical decisions, and integrate solutions Results oriented.  Able to handle multiple complex tasks and independently prioritize deliverables

The range for this position is $63,667.00 - $87,543.00  assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
