Job Description
Manage all activities related to maintenance, cleaning, and preparation of tooling equipment. Supervise tooling personnel executing tasks related to tooling and maintaining the tooling area. Coordinate tool repairs and tool maintenance with outside vendors, and manage spare parts related to tooling.
ResponsibilitiesSupervise tooling personnel and manage schedule, performance, training, and safety.Assign cleaning and preparation tasks to tooling personnel based on production needs.Manage housekeeping, organization, equipment, and cleaning supplies within the tooling area.Maintain and update tooling inventory status and share with Maintenance, Production, and Process departments.Organize and lead tooling meetings with Process and Production departments to discuss tooling-related topics.Request quotes, track repairs, and manage vendor communication until full receipt of equipment.Keep track of costs and budget.Actively participate in quality investigations, lean deployment, kaizen events, and other company programs where tooling department contribution is needed.Implement software or digital tools for easy access to records, technical information, reports, etc.Document processes related to tooling, including work instructions, incoming testing, drawings, and tooling specifications.Write and oversee tool cleaning procedures.Transition handwritten documentation methods towards digital methods.Search for new technologies, vendors, and processes to enhance tooling performance.Continuously develop internal technical expertise with extrusion tooling.Evaluate new practices and technical solutions for the tooling currently in use.Evaluate tooling performance in close connection with production and process personnel.Troubleshoot tooling failure and performance issues.Essential SkillsExperience in composite tooling, maintenance, and tool repair.Ability to manage all activities related to maintenance, cleaning, and preparation of tooling equipment.Experience in supervising tooling personnel and maintaining the tooling area.Proficiency in managing tool repairs and maintenance with outside vendors.Experience in managing spare parts related to tooling (seals, breaker plates, hardware, bearings, heaters).Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong daily management skills.Experience in managing schedule, performance, training, and safety of tooling personnel.Ability to assign tasks based on production needs.Experience in managing housekeeping, organization, equipment, and cleaning supplies.Ability to maintain and update tooling inventory status.Experience in organizing and leading meetings with Process and Production departments.Ability to request quotes, track repairs, and manage vendor communication.Experience in cost and budget tracking.Participation in quality investigations, lean deployment, kaizen events, and other company programs.Proficiency in implementing software or digital tools.Experience in documenting processes related to tooling.Ability to transition documentation methods towards digital methods.Experience in searching for new technologies, vendors, and processes.Continuous development of internal technical expertise with extrusion tooling.Ability to evaluate new practices and technical solutions.Experience in evaluating tooling performance and troubleshooting issues.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
