Job Description

SUMMARY:

Thorough extensive knowledge of tooling design and machining, resolve any/all design problems affecting the operation of equipment.  Modifying, designed and/or build tools to improve tool life or performance in production. Support the press teams by providing technical support to ensure continuous improvement of the manufacturing process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide Technical Support to press crews to ensure precise Rotary settings.Develop new or improved processes to increase Rotary tooling life and make ready time.Coordinate the activities of tool design to facilitate production or procurement of tooling.Participate in the installation of new equipment providing support and training to press teams and coordinate technical training as needed.Thorough preventative maintenance insured daily task are met to meet production requirements.Manage tooling and all associated hardware inventory.Responsible for general cleanup of equipment and all work areas. Maintain all OHSE and clean requirements and procedures.Maintain manual and/or computerized records of tooling procurement status and deposition information.Examined tools and tool records to determine disposition of tools.Thorough extensive knowledge of tool design examine standard tools and modify as required to improve usage. Resolve any design problems.Understand ISO 9001-2000 standards and Quality objectives and communicate to the Tooling Technician.Understand the OHSE obligations actively support the policy and implement the guiding principles in everyday activities.Any and all other work as may be requested by management.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED, Technical schooling a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

Five or more years industrial experience with mechanical and/or electrical experience, troubleshooting, and machine shop experienceSpecific knowledge of tooling required.Must possess computer skills including Computerized Auto Design (CAD) or similar software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires prolonged periods of standing, stooping, bending and/or reaching, balancing, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, hearing and speaking.Frequent lifting in excess of 60 lbs.Must be able to hold, touch, feel and manipulate with hand products and equipment in a safe manner. Manual dexterity is required.Must have use of close, vision distance, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus as well as good eye hand coordination.Must be able to rotate shifts. Must be able to work in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week when necessary to meet business demands.
