Leidos is seeking a summer intern with a Systems Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Information Systems background to join our team in support of the SMIT contract, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support day to day operational maintenance for solutions deployed to the NMCI network.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Tools Engineering Intern duties include:
Deployment of solutions to Windows and RHEL environments Support automation efforts to reduce manual efforts and increase efficienciesSupport automation efforts to reduce manual efforts and increase efficienciesParticipate in the planning of tool upgrades, replacement, configuration, and maintenanceParticipate in new and existing IT modernization, expansion, and improvement projects related to tools and data for the NMCI networkComply with ITSM processes and proceduresComply with Cybersecurity requirements within the DoDI 8500.01 and DON 5239Collaborate with technical experts to synthesize solutions related to tools and dataDevelop and maintain processes, checklists, and procedures for tools and dataBasic Qualifications:
Enrolled in a degree program focusing in Systems Engineering, CS/CIS (or similar) major with graduation planned in late 2025-2027Ability to obtain a security clearanceUS citizenship required.Ability to obtain Security+ (or other relevant) certification to meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirementsAbility to multi-task, self-assign work in a dynamic, fast-paced environmentMotivated self-starter with ability to work in a matrix organization and communicate effectively with peers, subordinates and program leadershipStrong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadershipWillingness to travel to customer sites to perform tasks when necessaryPreferred Qualifications:
Experience and working knowledge of ITSM processes.Experience with HP Service Manager and HP Asset Manager.Experience maintaining applications in Azure IaaS.Experience maintaining and patching Tomcat and Java.Experience with Microsoft SCOMExperience with Aternity 12.x softwareExperience maintaining and patching Microsoft Windows ServersExperience maintaining and patching Oracle on RHEL / WindowsExperience with Red Hat version 6 or 8.Experience with Print Management solutions is a plus.CertificationsAzure AZ-104 and Azure AZ-900

Pay Range:Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
