Toolset Architect
Location: Basingstoke (BSN01) other possible locations include Bracknell (BRA01), Birmingham (BIR23) or Stevenage (STE04)
The Tooling Technical Specialist will work in a small team as part of a large programme to provide specialist implementation support and services for the network management systems. Activities will include understanding design updates for new changes, implementation, configuration and testing to deliver medium to high complexity work packages as part of customer delivery projects. This role involves the understanding of RedHat Enterprise Linux & subsequent NMS Applications, a standard MPLS network, Ethernet Access Links and a good understanding of Juniper and Cisco product sets.
The successful candidate will have a broad technical knowledge of the VMware, Cisco and SevOne tools.
Your role will involve:
Management of VMware SMARTS Event management systems Management of VMware NCM Configuration management systems Management of SevOne Performance Monitoring systems Management of Cisco ISE system for controlling access to Network devices Liaise with NMS Architects for design updates, development and patch testing Implementing technical changes and ensure good Service Handover (including handover documentation) Able to work under pressure, team-working and sharing knowledge between team members. Learning, and applying recently gained skills, to solve technical problems.
