Top Secret SQL DBA
Job Description Design, develop, and maintain the database infrastructure during the transition from Oracle to NoSQL, including planning data structures and access strategies.  Assist with deployments, database migrations, and resolving connectivity, compatibility, reliability, and security issues.  Collaborate with government customers and IC partners on technical database solutions.  Recommend new technologies and efficiencies.  Coordinate testing, setup, and maintenance of databases and custom applications, resolving hardware, software, storage, and networking issues.  Participate in COOP exercises and manage database security.  Plan, create, test, tune, configure, and maintain MarkLogic and NoSQL databases, and evaluate data management tools.  Oversee database projects, including planning, budgeting, and delivering DBMS presentations.  Establish system information requirements, analyze database needs, and design, normalize, develop, install, and implement databases and patches.  Maintain, monitor, tune, backup, and recover databases for high availability, and install, configure, and maintain DBMS software.  Administer data standards, policies, and procedures, and implement data mining and warehousing programs.  Document procedures, create job aids, and script cron jobs for maintenance and audit management.  Analyze information needs, database relationships, and data flow, coordinating maintenance and changes.  Automate database tasks for efficiency, develop new database standards, and monitor database growth across environments.  Perform database administration on Linux/Unix platforms, test and deploy database and security patches, and harden databases to STIG standards.  Write logical and physical database descriptions, direct developers and analysts on DBMS changes, and perform daily system checks and troubleshooting.  Configure, install, and document database servers, provide troubleshooting support, and ensure disaster recovery for databases.
