Must have strong background knowledge of the New York State K-12 Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards and the ISTE Standards for Students and Educators Experience with technology integration in the classroom. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Desired Qualifications: Experience developing and implementing curriculum and performance-based assessments. Experience delivering effective and dynamic professional learning through a variety of modalities. Position Summary/Responsibilities: Summary: The K-12 Digital Innovation Coach is a dynamic and passionate leader and collaborator who empowers teachers to design and deliver engaging, student-centered learning experiences through the effective integration of innovative instructional strategies, curriculum design, assessment practices, and technology. The Digital Innovation Coach also guides teachers in the ethical and effective use of digital tools, ensuring that technology integration enhances the learning environment while promoting digital wellness and responsible technology practices. This role involves collaboration, coaching, and professional development to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation throughout the district. Responsibilities: Collaborate with teachers to design and implement innovative instructional strategies that promote student agency, critical thinking, use of technology and collaboration Model effective and innovative teaching practices. Provide individualized coaching and feedback to teachers. Support teachers and directors in innovatively developing and refining curriculum units that align with NYS standards (including the Computer Science and Digital Fluency Standards). Facilitate the development and implementation of performance-based assessments. Design and facilitate professional learning experiences that are differentiated, engaging, and relevant to the needs of adult learners. Provide professional development and support to teachers on technology integration. Assist teachers in exploring and implementing new technologies. Guide teachers in the implementation of strategies to promote student well-being in the digital environment. Educate students, parents and staff on the ethical and safety implications of technology use. Collaborate with school leaders to develop and implement digital wellness initiatives. This position may be called on to substitute in classroom(s) when the need for a daily substitute arises. In very rare cases, this position may be called upon to fulfil a vacancy in the appropriate tenure area until the vacancy can be filled. The individual in this position may be invited to attend Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) and will be compensated at the Professional Rate ($35/hour).
