Job Description:
T5 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Tower Technicians to join our team! In this role you will get to be a part of an amazing team of talented tower technicians, assessing and improving our nation's communications and navigational aid tower infrastructure.
100 percent travel required. Travel expenses are paid by program.
What You'll Be Doing:
Traveling with a team of tower techniciansConducting structural condition assessments of tower systems, including foundation, structural steel members and connection plates/bolts, appurtenances such as microwave dishes and communications antennas,, cables, junction boxes, etc., grounding and lightning protection systemsAdjusting tower guy cable tension and realigning towers as necessaryCompleting checklists and documenting condition using photographical evidenceMeeting with local tower ownership, clients, and landownersDebriefing customers and management on findingsConsulting with management and engineers to assist in recommended actions for tower condition improvementWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:
A safe work history and mindsetCurrent or recent tower climb and rescue credentialsComfort in climbing towers up to 400 feet. in height (though generally less than 200 ft)Computer skillsCommunications skills (written and oral)3 plus years’ experience requiredHigh school diploma or GED required.Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.Minimum Clearance Required to Start:
