TPM Engineer

In this role you will be part of a team in Ecolab’s Production System’s highly visible Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) transformation as we drive a cultural shift in continuous improvement. Specific focus areas will be our Life Science manufacturing department and our training and development program. Assist in implementing rapid change; be a hands-on team member through the change process. Serve as a change agent by promoting process disciplines, safety and quality focus.

The environment is fast paced and the TPM Engineer will need to know how to prioritize projects, manage time and collaborate with multiple departments and individuals to achieve the same goals. Manage projects and lead FI loss analysis, create charters for projects and manage TPM activities. The TPM Engineer will be self-motivated, detail-oriented and very engaged with the plant front line team.

Position Details:

This is an on-site position located in Greensboro, North Carolina.Work Schedule: full-time, working during day shift operating hours and supporting off shifts as needed.

What You Will Learn:

Model and influence cultural development through TPM implementation initiatives.Extensive implementation of Loss Trees and Loss Control programs.Work with leaders and managers as needed in 5S and Visual Workplace, Daily Operations Meeting, Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Focused Improvement, Training and Education to drive improvements in safety, quality, and production.Work “hands-on” in problem solving and participate in TPM implementation/events.Troubleshoot new or existing problems involving designs, materials or process.  Help identify losses or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.Work with Regional TPM leaders on TPM Training Program in the region.

What You Will Do:

Collect data and ensure accuracy of all loss data.  Develop and conduct regular audits of data. Support the pareto of data, use and train others on the use of root cause analysis tools.  Facilitate and document Kaizens as well as PDCA for large projects.Work with plant Engineering to coordinate equipment downtime with planning, maintenance and production to execute TPM activities. Work with Engineering to support design, install, and/or troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment.Develop and train others on how to develop TPM work instructions: One Point Lessons, Process Picture Maps, SOP’s, Cleaning Inspection Lubrication (CIL) checklists, etc.Monitor the progress of teams and TPM pillars as compared to the Master Plan and work where needed to ensure plant meets schedule objectives.Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

0-2 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environmentBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Science or BusinessStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsGood communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial EngineeringExperience with TPMExperience with creating training programs

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $64,000.00 - $96,000.00. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
