Track/Electrical Maintenance Technician
Description

This position is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of the Cincinnati Streetcar wayside systems (Traction Power Substations, OCS, Track, and Track Switches).Union Position starting pay $27.66 / full benefits after 90 daysKey Responsibilities:Provides maintenance and repairs for the wayside systems on a daily basis in order to meet system availability requirementsPerforms all maintenance and repair activities in compliance with original equipment manufactures' requirements, the wayside systems maintenance program and associated SOPsSupports servicing staff in ensuring station stops are clean for service availabilitySupports Maintenance and Operations Facility Maintainer in the care and maintenance of shop equipment that is utilized for Streetcar maintenance and repairWorks with wayside systems, Station manufacturers, and sub-suppliers’ field personnel to support warranty work and administrationProvides support for subcontracted major wayside systems repairs and servicingProvides support in the timely removal of snow and prevention of ice during inclement weatherProvides support to the Transportation group during wayside system equipment failures to ensure continuation of revenue service operationsAdheres to all safety and organizational rules, policies and proceduresSupports Transportation staff to ensure timely pullouts from the yard for revenue service on a daily basisSupports the Streetcar vehicle maintenance working group whenever requiredDiligently operates as an overseer of the Streetcar System in order to ensure a safe, secure and clean operation for the public and all employees and passengersOther duties as requiredEducation, Licensing, and Certifications:  High school diploma or equivalentRelevant training or certification in a related technical field is preferredQualified to drive and possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license in good standing Experience:  Experience in transit rail maintenance and/or a related field (e.g. high voltage electrical, electrical/mechanical, railroad track) is preferred. Equivalence of experience and education will be considered. Skills and Knowledge Required:Must be able to read and comprehend technical specifications and manualsMust know how to operate standard office equipment, two-way radios, fleet vehicles and other related shop equipment; familiarity with Asset Management system(s) would be beneficialMust have ability and knowledge of basic hand tool uasgeMust have the ability to perform weldingMust be able to read a multi-meter and voltage measuring equipment Must have good oral and written communications skillsMust be able to work amid interruptions, prioritize and deal with time pressured deadlines and be able to clearly communicate during such occasionsMust be motivated, be able to receive instructions and and possess the ability to handle crisis and conflict situations.Pre-Employment Requirements:Must submit and successfully pass drug testing, criminal background check and verification of previous employmentMust be able to maintain and sustain a Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card Physical Requirements:Must be able to pass periodical DOT physical examinations and random drug/alcohol screens as this is a safety sensitive positionMust be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules, including weekends as neededThis position requires the wearing of a uniformWork is performed both indoors and outdoors in all types of conditions (e.g. weather, rain, dust, noise, heat, cold, etc.)Job requires standing, bending, stooping, kneeling and walking throughout the shiftMust handle parts and equipment ranging from 10 to 50 lbs.About Transdev:Based near Chicago, Transdev is the largest private-sector operator of multiple modes of transit in North America, including bus, rail, streetcar, paratransit, and shuttle services.
