Track Supervisor - Gonzales, Louisiana
S tart your new career today!  Join Rescar's rapidly-growing rail maintenance organization, with over 50 years in the industry! ​ RESCAR is rapidly growing and searching for a Track Supervisor to lead our crew out of our Gonzalez Service Center. What You'll Do: + Supervise the track construction effort and multiple track crews (both our own craft & subcontractors) to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule. Includes interfacing with other track crews, o wner representatives and subcontractors. + In addition to track construction, scope may include: grading, railroad grade crossings, drainage, material receiving/inspection, crane pick evaluations etc. + Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control) + Supervise craft employees and/or other subcontractors as required by the contract. + Ensure craft employees and subcontractors are working safely; promote our Safety Culture. Safety is our #1 Priority. + Review purchase requisitions, which may include small tools, consumables, permanent materials, etc. + Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required. + Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc. + Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, environmental compliance, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required. + Responsible for knowing the budget and production rates and striving to meet/exceed them. + Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project. + Schedule necessary inspections per contract documents. + Represent RESCAR in the most positive and professional manner with respect to clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and the community we serve. + Perform additional assignments per Upper Leadership/Management direction. + Other duties as assigned. What You'll Need: + Minimum 5 years in Railroad track construction management and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction. + Thorough knowledge of all aspects of railroad track construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control schedules and safety required. + Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential. + Team building skills. + Ability to utilize Microsoft Office. + Meets or exceeds quality standards on all work that is performed. + Follows and enforces safety rules, wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and leads by example to ensure that all employees meet or exceed our safety standards. + Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis. + Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained and in safe working order.
