In Office Requirement: Hybrid

This intern will support MITRE’s work for the International Trade Administration (Department of Commerce) developing a supply chain risk analysis tool.

Responsibilities:

Perform data cleaning, visualization and analysis in standard statistical and graphics software languages such as PythonConduct economic literature reviews and qualitative research, investigate economic policies and regulations, and other research as necessary

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a student enrolled full-time pursuing an accredited degree seeking program in Economics, Statistics, Math, or a related field with economics coursework and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internshipSustained excellence in academic performanceKnowledge of economic principles, quantitative techniques, and data analysisStatistical software package or programming language experience such as Stata, R, Python or others

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience having applied Economics, Stastics or Math learning to an internship or research/lab positionExperience with international trade dataStrong communication skills, initiative, and experience working both independently and collaborativelyDemonstrated interest in serving the public
