Trade Compliance Specialist
POSITION PROFILE
Ricoh USA (“RUS”) is currently seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist (“TCS”).
Key responsibilities include providing operational support for Ricoh’s international trade activities, working with the Trade Compliance Liaison as well as with Ricoh’s external trade vendor, to ensure compliance with all applicable import / export laws, statutes, and regulations while optimizing operational efficiency; increasing the awareness of import/export requirements within Ricoh; maintaining a high-level of import and export compliance throughout the organization; as well as developing/updating trade related compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
Job Duties
This position is responsible for supporting RUS’s Trade activities associated with the movement of our products focused on operational efficiency and compliance. Key duties include but are not limited to the following:
Support RUS’s Internal Self-Assessment (“ISA”) Certification. Attend Customs House Brokers Monthly meetings. Collaborate closely with Customs House Brokers and internal teams to ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. Support with monitoring Customs House Brokers’ compliance. Manage the Power of Attorney notices for Customs House Brokers. Maintain the annual Trade Compliance (Import) Training. Maintain the Trade Compliance Webpage Tradewin holiday coverage. Duty Drawback annual review and verification. Assist with the quarterly Ricoh North America import/export trade compliance committee. Support with the day-to-day operation and administration of RUS’s export and import trade compliance controls. Assist in identifying trade compliance risks and developing and implementing appropriate corrective actions as needed. Assist with the interface with US governmental regulatory agencies on trade compliance programs when needed. Support during Import/Export records retention monthly review. Support external vendors during Export post-audit monthly review and take action to address any identified issues. Support with Monthly ACH payments for Trade Compliance Matters Support with Monthly Trade Remedy (TR)-004 {China Tariffs} Performs other duties as assigned, including other compliance related initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Certifications)
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience. Customs Broker License preferred but not required. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in global trade compliance and US customs compliance. Knowledge of US Customs regulations. Strong knowledge of Import and Export laws and regulations, including UFLPA (US), SB 211 (Canada), BIS, CBSA. Strong knowledge of US Customs regulations and processes, including the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program, including, but not limited to experience with Annual Notification Letter (ANL) filings, as well as Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTALAND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Typically, an office environment with adequate lighting, and ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise level. Work assignments are diversified. Interpret, comprehend and apply complex material, data and instruction – prepare, provide and convey diversified information. Minimal physical effort required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically with less than 10 lbs. (e.g., papers, books, files and small parts, etc.). Moderate dexterity – regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, eye/hand coordination.
