Based in our Houston location, you will serve as the primary resource for day-to-day activities associated with import/export compliance for US locations of Actuation Technologies.
Join our organization as a Trade Compliance Specialist and ensure import and export activities align with laws and regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining our compliance programs and supporting internal partners in navigating the complexities of global trade.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Coordinate all import and export activities, including audits, record-keeping, and ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, Foreign Asset Control Regulations, and Anti-boycott Regulations. Assign, document, and maintain Harmonized Tariff Codes (HTSUS) and Export Classification Numbers (ECCN) for all products, including the classification of new or existing items as necessary. Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal processes, procedures, and written work instructions to maintain compliance with global trade regulations. Provide training to compliance users and gatekeepers on import/export requirements, ensuring company-wide adherence to trade compliance policies. Serve as the primary liaison with Shared Services, customs brokers, and freight forwarders to lead import/export documentation, licensing, and transaction screenings. Stay informed of regulatory changes by reviewing trade-related publications, attending industry seminars, and implementing updates to internal policies as needed. Coordinate the valuation of imported merchandise, ensuring proper reporting of direct/indirect payments, assists, and other customs valuation requirements. Collaborate with IT to ensure system compatibility with trade compliance requirements and support automated solutions for import/export processes.Who You Are: You balance planning with actions. For This Role, You Will Need: B.S. in Business, technical field, Law, or equivalent experience Three years of related experience in import/export compliance
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: General knowledge of logistics, including ocean, air, parcel, and truck transportation Familiarity with Incoterms and supply chain security Experience with Archer, Tradesphere Exporter, Oracle, TRAX, or Global Trade Management systems Our Offer To You:
