TRADE MANAGER
Job Posting Overview The Trade Manger is responsible for assisting in the development of the trade strategy and trade effectiveness and efficiency plans required to deliver the net sales and operating profit goals for specific customers. The trade manager is also responsible for the effective management of trade with the sales team, including scorecards, measurement, and guidance and direction to ensure the sales team is maximizing trade dollars to drive profitable growth consistent with the business plan. Close working relationship with the deduction management team will be essential on deduction resolution and process improvements to increase efficiency. Responsibilities Assisting in the development, implementation, and communication of the trade strategy and trade effectiveness and efficiency plans. Assisting in the building of the trade allocation models, including performance-based trade allocations, and deployment of trade to sales by customer for execution. Developing effective and fiscally-sound trade programs supporting customer, segments, and channels. Evaluating the financial return, and approving and providing recommendations on all customer pricing, allowance, and trade requests. Provides guidance and direction to the sales team to ensure trade dollars are driving performance and profitable growth aligned with the strategic business plan. Assisting in the effective management of trade with the sales team, including monthly trade reviews and providing guidance and training to the sales team to improve return on investment and accelerate profitable growth. Analyzing investments to ensure executed programs drive planned sales and profits. Provides post-program analysis with key learnings to stakeholders to guide decision-making on future programs. Building the customer trade budgets and forecasts. Effectively communicates and works with the sales team to ensure accurate and timely updates to their trade plans. Developing trade reporting and scorecards, and communicating to internal and sales stakeholders. Actively participates in monthly calls with sales to review performance and identifies opportunities, risks and contingency plans. Designing and implements a trade efficiency system to quickly identify invalid customer claims and provides supporting documentation for successful recapture from customer. Managing and optimizing the Siebel Contract System/database of customer agreements and price discounts and ensures accuracy and timely creation of the contracts. Supporting the Customer Finance/Deduction Management team on deduction and payment issues and resolution and by identifying continual improvement solutions to reduce the inflow of claims and to increase the productivity of claim processing. Qualifications Expert knowledge of the consumer products goods industry in marketing or sales and an analytical business role (trade or finance). Must have an understanding of the industry. Must be highly analytical and demonstrate sound business judgment and confidence. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with all levels of personnel within the organization. Must have a high degree of organizational skills and be self-sustained in order to effectively work independent from their manager. Education: Bachelor of Arts/Science in business administration, accounting, or finance. 3-5 years accounting / budgeting experience Experience: People management experience Physical Demands: None. Specific Skills: Must be highly skilled in computer and software applications, which are critical in order to effectively execute the job, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Specialized Knowledge, License, etc: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Financial Acumen, Analytical skills Supervisory Responsibilities: This position supervises Trade Specialists Working Conditions: Office Environment. Travel Requirements: None. Language Skills: English is the primary language skill, however, bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
