Trade Operations Analyst 1 (Wealth Management Operations)

You would be joining our Trade Processing and Settlements team to help ensure the timely and accurate booking of transactions and to ensure any issues or fails are pro-actively dealt with and resolved.

You will liaise with counterparties and custodians to ensure the processing and settlement of securities trades against payment in accordance with existing rules and regulations.

It's a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on meeting tight deadlines, and we continually strive to find ways to innovate and become better at what we do.

You will be flexible, creative and curious enough to take on a challenge, rather than tick off set tasks on a to-do list.

You'll be based at our Schroders Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. It's home to our EMEA Operations and Technology Operations hub.
It has the same high standards and international reputation as our HQ in the City of London, without being in the city.

What you'll do


• Ensure the trades you are responsible for are confirmed and settled on time, following up and escalating issues as appropriate
• Initiating payments for fund subscriptions, new issues and private equities
• Verifying and releasing Swift settlement instructions to Custodians
• Ensuring that all securities bookings and trade settlements comply with internal and external requirements
• Daily/monthly review of CSDR - Settlement Discipline Rule Fine Reports
• Daily transactions reporting to Swiss Stock Exchange (SWX)
• Weekly/monthly reporting of facts, figures, Adonis controls unsettled trade reporting
• Reconciliation of the Swiss Stamp Tax Journal (monthly/quarterly)
• Assisting with the resolution of any trade related overdrafts, interest claims and CSDR charges, independently resolving of settlement and cash related enquiries
• Managing client and stakeholder queries pro-actively, liaising with external and internal partners to clarify settlement issues with particular focus on quality and timeliness of communication
• Utilising department controls and procedures honestly and effectively, taking steps to call out and minimise any risks
• Suggesting, exploring and helping to implement ideas to save time and cost, reduce risk and improve service quality
• Collaborating with others to help build a positive and supportive working environment

• Strong aptitudes for numeracy and attention to detail in a fast paced office environment
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work on your own initiative
• An innovative approach to problem solving and analysis
• Pro-active and forward thinking in communications with others
• Good at analysing and solving problem with a strong handle on operational risk
