Job Summary
As a Trade Analyst within our expert support services team, you will be executing and monitoring operational tasks to ensure accuracy and timeliness, reconciling and resolving trade discrepancies with counterparties, and maintaining trade records in line with regulatory standards. You will collaborate with US traders and internal teams to support trading activities, assist in process improvements for operational efficiency, and provide support for trade-related inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform daily reconciliation of trades, positions, and cash balances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Investigate and resolve any breaks or discrepancies promptly.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution and settlement of trades across various financial instruments.
- Monitor trade flows and address any discrepancies or issues during the settlement process.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
- Collaborate with technology teams to develop and enhance trade processing systems.
- Monitor and manage operational risks associated with trade processing and settlement.
- Implement controls to mitigate potential risks and ensure adherence to risk management policies.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered for some positions.
- Possess previous experience in trade operations, financial services, or a related field, with experience levels varying by position seniority.
- Demonstrate proficiency in trade management and settlement systems.
- Exhibit strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Communicate effectively with excellent verbal and written skills for interaction with internal teams and external counterparties.
- Collaborate efficiently with traders, compliance teams, technology departments, and other stakeholders.
- Adapt flexibly to changing market conditions and operational demands.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to developing and implementing solutions.
Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Obtain a Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Wealth Management, or a related financial field for added advantage.
- Acquire extensive experience in trade operations or a related field, especially within a specific asset class like equities, ETFs, or mutual funds.
- Gain experience with data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python) to enhance process automation and data management.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of financial markets, trading strategies, and the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
- Apply strong critical thinking skills to devise innovative solutions for complex operational challenges.
- Cultivate strong interpersonal skills to effectively negotiate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Work effectively in a global environment by understanding cultural differences and adapting communication accordingly.
