Summary

Producer Ag is a joint venture between MKC and CHS, Inc. that taps into an extensive network of assets to support a global supply chain. The joint venture exists to improve market access for farmer-owners, area cooperatives, processors, and end users through participation in the southern corridor grain supply chain and creates an integrated supply chain with export access to the Gulf.

Producer Ag has an exciting opportunity on our trading team and is looking for a Commodity Trader to join our team. In this role, you will participate in trading activities which includes but are not limited to logistics, origination, hedging, sales, reporting and other related activities. A successful candidate must be able to work across the enterprise and with a diverse group of people and customers. This role requires collaborative decision making while utilizing details, facts and data to make informed decisions. Strong communication skills, the ability to build relationships, and attention to detail are a must in this position.

This position will be located in our Wichita, KS location.

Responsibilities Involvement in coordinating the logistical movement of grain in trucks and railcars. Setting freight rates for movement of Producer Ag originated grain. Working with the trading team to establish and strengthen relationships to add value for Producer Ag. Continually investigate best practices for grain logistics operations. Originating bushels from producer and commercial accounts. Communicating goals and objectives to all involved internal stakeholders. Creating relationships with key end user accounts. Searching out new markets for originated grain. Involvement in billing and settlement of railcars. Managing grain position risk with hedging activities. Working to meet or exceed budgeted financial return objectives. Setting bids for the producer grain that we originate. Helping plan and execute company merchandising goals. Involvement in coordination of all daily merchandising functions.Perform other responsibilities as needed or assigned.Minimum Qualifications (required) High School diploma or GEDKnowledge of Supply Chain and Procurement and/or CommoditiesKnowledge of TradingAdditional Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related fieldUnderstanding of commodity markets and trading principlesAbility to adapt to fast changing environmentExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Ability to respond to inquiries and complaints from customers.Ability to react to change productively Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documentsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; fundamentals of plane and solid geometry; and trigonometry. CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications.
