City Stony Point State NY Zip Code 10980 Minimum Qualifications Four years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.If verifiable, we will accept and prorate part-time and volunteer experience. Duties Description As a Trades Generalist, duties include, but are not limited to: • Ability to operate machinery such as skid steer, excavators, backhoe and loader. Complete daily maintenanceprocedures for equipment.• Work outside in all weather conditions.• Maintain adequate levels of supplies, tools, and equipment to accomplish tasks; make necessary purchasesfollowing all Agency guidelines.• Assist with maintenance of roads, paths, and trails.• Basic servicing of motor equipment including troubleshooting, checking fluids, changing fluids, parts, etc.• Use hand tools, portable power tools, shop equipment and measuring and testing instruments appropriate to the assigned trade.• Will be responsible for draining, winterizing, and recharging the park water system seasonally.• Will be responsible for overall coordination and execution of projects, working independently with a minimumof direct supervision.• Assigns, supervises, reviews, trains, and evaluates work of lower-level employees.• Assist in snow and ice control and operate snow removal equipment.• Use a chainsaw to fell and remove trees.• Assist in other areas of park operations as directed.• Perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
