Proofpoint is seeking a skilled, self-starting, and highly organized seasoned Event Manager to join our Corporate Events team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a positive attitude who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. You will play a pivotal role in planning and executing high-impact marketing events, including tradeshows, exclusive internal experiences, and high-profile customer engagements. As an Event Manager, you will oversee event logistics, vendor coordination, budgeting, and on-site execution. Your ability to solve problems, multitask, and collaborate will be key to delivering seamless and successful events that enhance brand visibility and audience engagement.
**About the Role**

**What You’ll Do:**
**Event Planning & Execution**
+ Develop and implement event strategies that align with business objectives.
+ Manage venue selection, vendor negotiations, contract oversight, and event logistics to ensure smooth execution.
+ Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring every detail is flawlessly executed.
+ Troubleshoot on-site challenges and lead event staff for efficient operations.
+ Customer-Centric Mindset: Ensuring client satisfaction throughout every stage of event planning.
**Budget & Resource Management**
+ Assist in managing event budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective planning.
+ Maintain basic accounting and budgetary oversight, including vendor payments and financial reconciliation.
+ Collaboration & Communication
+ Partner with internal teams—including marketing, sales, and leadership—to execute flawless events.
+ Maintain strong communication with vendors, sponsors, and event partners to build and sustain relationships.
+ Provide exceptional oral and written communication to ensure seamless coordination across all stakeholders.
**Marketing & Promotion**
+ Support marketing efforts by creating and distributing promotional materials to maximize attendance and engagement.
+ Manage event registration platforms and enhance audience engagement through digital tools.
+ Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement
+ Gather post-event feedback to refine event strategies and improve future experiences.
+ Track event performance metrics and contribute insights for optimization.
**What You Bring**
+ Bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
+ Proven Event Expertise – 4+ years of experience in event planning, execution, and logistics.
+ Strong Organizational & Planning Abilities – Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with precision.
+ Creativity & Problem-Solving Skills – A proactive approach to troubleshooting and innovating event experiences.
+ Multitasking in Fast-Paced Environments – Ability to remain agile and composed under pressure.
+ Technical Proficiency – Basic understanding of event management software, word processors, and spreadsheets (e.g., Cvent, Salesforce, Marketo, Zoom, Asana, Microsoft Teams).
+ Financial Acumen – Basic accounting and budgetary skills to track expenses and manage financial aspects of events.
+ Flexibility & Travel Readiness – Willingness to travel and work flexible hours to support event success.
+ Adaptability: Remaining flexible and responsive to changing needs or circumstances.
**Location:** Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid schedule with required 3 days onsite per week).

Consistent with Proofpoint values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets as set out below. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. The range provided may represent a candidate range and may not reflect the full range for an individual tenured employee. This role may be eligible for variable compensation and/or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package, including flexible time off, a comprehensive well-being program with two paid Wellbeing Days and two paid Volunteer Days per year, plus a three-week Work from Anywhere option.
**Base Pay Ranges:**
SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area:
Base Pay Range: 90,075.00 - 132,110.00 USD
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska:
Base Pay Range: 72,825.00 - 106,810.00 USD
All other cities and states excluding those listed above:
Base Pay Range: 66,600.00 - 97,680.00 USD
