What you will be doing
Position Overview: This role supports daily operations by working directly with suppliers and internal customers to support managed freight opportunities balancing both cost and service.
Who you are: We are looking for a focused and reliable individual that enjoys working with suppliers to execute at a high level to meet internal customer needs. Effective communication skills will be key for success.
The position will be based in Boise ID or one of our main regional offices Phoenix AZ, Plano Tx.
Main responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Day to day operational accountability for company’s truckload, LTL, and intermodal programs, which include both dry and perishable commodities. Daily load tracking and event management Tender shipments to carriers Negotiate rates/commitments with carriers and resolve service issues Communicate with plants, buyers, vendors, and warehouse personnel on order changes and problem resolution Review freight and service performance each period and help develop action plans for addressing categories that fall below plan Work as a team player with internal staff and external customers to accomplish least cost/on-time delivery service Working knowledge of freight claim liability and resolution Working knowledge of DOT rules and regulations Special projects as assigned
What we are searching for
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or Business-related field preferred 2+ years transportation operations experience Knowledge of both dry and perishable commodities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, and Outlook Proven customer service skills Excellent analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills Detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as part of an integrated team
